Courses & Workshops
Alongside one-to-one tuition, I also run practical, hands-on creative workshops built around the techniques and materials I use in my own artwork.
These sessions are designed to be relaxed, accessible and creative rather than overly formal. The emphasis is on learning useful techniques, experimenting with materials and creating something genuinely individual.
Rather than asking everyone to reproduce exactly the same finished piece, I encourage people to make their own creative decisions throughout the process. The aim is for everyone to leave with something that reflects their own ideas and personality.
Workshops can include techniques such as:
- Graffiti lettering and hand-painted typography
- Paint-marker and Posca techniques
- Spray paint
- Layering and mixed media
- Distressing, sanding and ageing
- Creating patina and weathered finishes
- Working with reclaimed and salvaged materials
- Composition, colour and finishing techniques
- Repurposing unusual objects and surfaces
Workshops are suitable for a range of experience levels, including complete beginners, and guidance is provided throughout.
Rustic Graffiti Sign Workshop — Blended Monkey Studios
I currently run a full-day Rustic Graffiti Sign Workshop at Blended Monkey Studios on the Cambridgeshire/Norfolk border.
During the day, participants transform reclaimed timber into their own completely individual graffiti-style sign.
You will choose your own reclaimed timber, experiment with paint and layered finishes, learn distressing and ageing techniques, and develop hand-painted graffiti lettering around your own chosen word, name, number or short phrase.
Before the workshop, I prepare a selection of hand-drawn graffiti lettering styles based around your chosen wording, giving you several different approaches to choose from on the day.
There is also access to my ever-growing Salvage Crate, containing reclaimed, vintage and unusual materials that can be incorporated into the finished artwork.
No previous drawing or lettering experience is required, and numbers are deliberately kept small so that there is plenty of opportunity for individual guidance throughout the day.
At the end of the workshop, you will leave with a completely original finished sign ready to hang at home.

I am also available to discuss workshops for other venues, creative spaces, festivals, organisations and private groups. Subject to location and existing workshop commitments. I value the relationships I build with the venues I work with, so any new opportunities are considered with those existing partnerships in mind.
